10. Turning a Bowl attempt one 

This is gonna be a short one..

I got setup, quickly realized this was way too heavy to spin normally. I couldn’t find the attachment that would screw into the piece though. So after struggling and the material launching at me I decided to search harder and eventually found it in a random drawer... Okay.

I didn’t document but I then set it up properly. I noticed it was a little hard to screw into the wood, it was very green. Smelled like the woods when I turned it.

Disaster struck. A shop staff was nearby to take note. Not sure how this happened, everything was going smoothly. Oh well back to it?

So I learned that turning this green wood was a nightmare. Took me over an hour to get it round.
But look!

This is really pretty! I was so excited!

AND THEN

TRAGEDY

So at this point my hands hurt quite a bit and my nice wood was ruined. I ordered some softer, kiln dried blanks. I at least now feel confident at the setup for turning a bowl so it’ll be all smooth sailing from here. I hope.
